#ShopKind Week (w/c 6th May) is a national campaign coordinated by the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) on behalf of the Home Office. It which aims to address #abuse and #violence against retail workers by highlighting the impact and scale of this behavior on staff, and encouraging positive behavior in stores.
In a recent research study carried out with charity members, 59% of respondents reported that incidents of abuse of staff and/or volunteers had increased in the last year, with an average increase of 33.3%. Figures from the #ShopKind campaign show that there are 1,300 violent or abusive incidents in the retail sector every day.
Charities can get involved in #ShopKind week by sharing the campaign assets and messaging in their shops and on their social media channels from 6th May 2024, with a range of posters, till-screen graphics, shelf-sliders and badges available for shops to download and use.
